Had a trip of a lifetime with JLR. Took my first Black Bear with a Bow. Being a guide myself, I can tell you that there are guides and then there are guides that will go that extra mile for their clients. The guides at JLR were great. The guides at JLR worked there tails off to make sure everyone in my group had a great hunt. From the lodging to the hunting it was a first class operation. My brother and I planned this hunt for two years and finally made it in June of 2005. We had been skunked by outfitters before in other states, but JLR Hunting was not a typical outfitter. They are people of their words. We both got a bear with our bow. Lee and Regis even let us use their equipment on the first day because the airline screwed up and lost our stuff. We had a lot of fun, saw bear, moose, ate well off Cletus and had a great time. My sides hurt by the time I left because we laughed so much. I would book a hunt with them again, I recomm end you do the same.

I have had the opportunity to hunt twice with JLR and both times were 100% successful hunts. I will definitely be returning next year and hopefully make this a yearly trip. Many thanks to Regis (Guide Extraordinaire) on my Spring 2006 hunt. With is advice (Regis insisted that a trophy bear was around), I bagged a nice trophy size spring bear. The day we went out we saw six bears at the bait and they stay around for some 2 hours until the Trophy bear chased them away. Too bad for him, he is now a carpet. Hunting with JLR is a sure thing. I saw 19 bears and shot a real unique V necked. I could write forever, but words can't explain the joy, reward and inner peace this trip gives me. to be able to share this themendous experience with my son and makes my heart at peace. The guys have become extended family and I chersh the timesport with them. The guys on all three of my trips have been super, even though. I didn't know most of them till we got here. If it's Gods plan, I hope to do a 3 generations hunt with Kevin, Andrew and me. At my age of 61, I know I have less time than more, but I hope and pray to make tha happen. My grandson Andrew, will learn to love this like his dad and me. I don't know what to recommend to make the experience better - It's called hunting for a reason and not shooting. The only guarantee is awesome scenery, great shand locations. The guides are working their asses off for us, great food from the cook. At the lodge and driendships and memories that will last forever. I hope the younger fellows truly realize how precious every minute of a trip like this is. God bless all of you. Don't know where to begin, It has been the most incredible trip! The people make you feel like your right at home. The food was great, the lodge was comfortable, clean and what every hunter wishes they had. The guides are some of the best woodsman I've ever seen. If you can't make friends with them you can't make friends. It's really hard to describe how fantastic the trip was in words...Let's jus say INCREDIBLE!!! You guys are fantastic! Can not wait to come back Came as a customer - leaving good friends. You'll never see anoutfitter work harder to put you on Bears!!!

I saw to many bears to keep track of. Had great hunt, and seen bears every night. Shot a one on the 4th night. The food was great, and this is a wonderful place to come and huntand I will be back again. The guides made the trip. Thank you guys for all the memories.

This is my 3rd year coming up to hunt. Your friendship and hospitalit really makes this feel like a second home. I didn't know what to expect the first year I came up. I hoped it would be fun and exciting, relaxing and rewarding. It's been all of that and more. What I didn't expect was to come away with sense of family and kinship. See you next year.

Bow hunted with JLR the week of May 31, 2010. Tagged out the very first night along with two other hunters. They had a nice treestand that was only 15 yards from the bait that was being hit hard. So much bear scat around the bait and trails you would not believe. They actually pawed about two feet below the barrel as well. My other buddy Jake tagged out that night too and after he shot his bear, he had another bear try climbing up his tree. Everyone in camp had shot opportunities and/or kills. Had a great time and looking forward to a moose hunt soon. Thanks for all of your hard work. Would recommend JLR to anyone that wants to see not just bears but huge bears. I just wanted to let you guys know how much I appreciate your friendship to me its never been about business. After the first few minutes I met you guys I knew we had met some incredible people. I look forward to this week every year to get away from all the craziness and for about 7 days I can forget about the rest of the world. I have filmed several Outfitters over the years but nothing can compare to you guys you run your business like I wish every one did with the customer first. It is so easy to talk to people and do a show about your outfitting business because no matter who they are you will treat them right. Please let Reg know how much we appreciate him. I forgot to sign the guest book when I was there last week. Steve and I had a great time. You,The guides were the greatest. We felt just like at home except with big bears all over the place!! I am sure I will try and get up there again some time in a year or two. I need to bring my other son. Good excuse for me to come back! Your camp is just like everyone said. You come to hunt and leave as friends too! I could go on and on (I probably did when I was there), but everything was perfect. You all worked so hard for us. Everyone had good opportunities for a good bear! Taking 10 out of 11 is great. Next time I will have to work on my will power to not shoot the first day, unless it's a monster. I know they are there. I have proof in the pictures and the bears I saw. The food was excellent too! The cook is a great cook and she never stopped working. Tell her I still owe her for the fudge recipe. All your other hunters in camp last week were very good people. We enjoyed everyone's company. Thank your wife for taking us to see the local sights; the beach the lobster boats and of course the cemetery ( Ha! Ha!). Thanks for letting me go with you on Friday last week baiting and hanging stands. I enjoyed it very much. It also let me know just how hard it is for you to prepare for our hunting! I hope all are doing well.

May/June Hunt 2010, Thanks again for My Hunt & My Bear. Three hunts before this one & NEVER seeing a bear ( or the Bear Poop! Boy did I go to The Wrong Outfitters before JLR!)! I know I was probably one of your most stubborn hunters but I sure wanted My Sharps 45-70 first shot to be a good bear, 278#'s was Great to me! Day one & 30 minutes later I saw my very first bear & so on Each day that followed & after taking my bear on the last day & last hour saw two more with one being THE BEAR of BEARS but I had to take care of my little girl & get her rug while I could. PERFECT Everything, kinda wondered at times if my wife had slipped yall a bill or something to take Extra care of me! Anyone thinking & need someone that has tried the rest & wondering if JLR is The Place to go call me, 870-904-8810 cell. Carmelle even went shopping for my girl while I hunted everyday. I can not say enough thru type but anyone may call me & I will tell You Everything you want to hear Positive about JLR Hunting.
